The CBEA serves the local business, government, and non-profit community in a consulting fashion while leveraging the skills and abilities of the talented students at St. Norbert College. While the CBEA gives presentations to the community, conducts economic impact studies with community partners, writes economic commentary for publicly traded companies, and even builds forecasting models for local firms, all of this work is done by CBEA Research Analyst Fellows under the direction of the CBEA leadership.
The CBEA Research Analyst Fellowship is an intensive, hands-on research experience where students will apply their academic training and skills to solving real world problems for the broader community. This fellowship is a paid position within the CBEA with a weekly time commitment dedicated toward the work of the CBEA. Throughout the year, students will be engaged in various training sessions depending on skills necessary for active projects ranging from statistical modeling and coding to working with economic impact modeling software. In addition to training, the core function of fellows will be to assist with completion of projects for clients and prepare analysis and presentations. While fellows work alongside faculty, students are expected to take an active role in the analysis, the reporting, the client meetings, and the presentations. Students with a strong academic background and quantitative skills along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment are encouraged to apply.
