About Diana L. Howles

Diana L. Howles is passionate about leadership, teaching and learning. She is a world-class trainer and professional speaker who brings over 25 years of professional talent development and education experience. She currently serves as CEO of Howles Associates. Her company provides workshops, critiques and consulting for virtual training, virtual meetings, on-camera presentations, webcam interviews, powerful in-person presentations, PowerPoint slide design and other multimedia learning solutions.

Over the years, she has trained Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies in person and virtually on 35+ business skills including leadership and presentation skills. She has worked with CNH America, Booz Allen Hamilton, the FDA, John Deere, Merck & Co., the USDA, Lockheed Martin, the National Park Service, Nikon, RR Donnelley, Ruffalo Noel Levitz and U.S. Customs Border Protection, among others. As an expert trainer, she has trained trainers and taught teachers, and has trained virtual employees in a dozen countries.

Diana is also a frequent presenter at international conferences. She was scheduled to present at the International Association for Talent Development (ATD) Conference in Denver in 2020 with 12,000 attendees from 120 countries. When it was cancelled because of the pandemic, she was asked to present to global attendees at their first virtual conference. She is also a past president of the ATD-Madison Area Chapter (MAC) and was the first certified virtual trainer from SkillPath Seminars and National Seminars Training, as well as the first virtual presenter for ATD-MAC.

Diana earned her master’s degree from Colorado State University in speech communication and rhetoric and holds a B.A. in communication arts and business administration from Minnesota State University-Mankato. She is a superb communicator and a natural leader. She also has experience working as a professional on-camera talent, model and voiceover talent.

As an international presentation coach and on-camera presentation coach, she has coached C-suite executives, managers and staff in private, public and nonprofit organizations. As an award-winning speaker, she was selected for the Cavett Robert award from the National Speakers Association, in addition to placing third and fourth in the nation in competitive speaking events. After winning Miss Teen of Wisconsin, she was later awarded second runner-up to Miss Teen of America, and won the Poise and Personality award at the national level.

During the pandemic, Diana published articles on how to successfully work remotely, how to manage anxiety in times of uncertainty, and how to make the shift to virtual training. Her previous articles have appeared in publications such as Learning Solutions magazine, Training magazine, trainingmag.com and TD, the monthly magazine of the Association for Talent Development.
