Mark Herzog

Center for Exceptional Leadership Facilitator

Mark recently retired in March 2018 from his role as Holy Family Memorial’s president and CEO where he served since 2001. HFM is a Wisconsin integrated health care delivery system, which regularly tops a wide range of national listings including AHA Most Wired, top heart-attack-receiving hospitals, Becker’s 150 Best Places to Work and top 100 community hospitals. HFM is a Medicare five-star hospital as well as the winner of the 2014 Insight Innovation award.

He formed the Herzog Advisory Group in 2018 to assist small to mid-sized organizations and leaders accelerate change, fulfill their potential, and concentrate his teaching and thought-leadership activities.

Mark is regularly featured in media including Health Leaders, Becker’s and Hospitals and Health Networks. He presents frequently with the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association and Becker’s, and participates in the HealthLeaders CEO Exchange. Mark is a faculty member with the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Center for Exceptional Leadership and he is guest faculty with the University of Michigan Health Management and Policy program.

Past board roles include the American Hospital Association RPB 5, Wisconsin Hospital Association and Progress Lakeshore, an economic development corporation. He was a Becker’s “Top 188 CEOs” in the nation in 2017. Mark was appointed to the AHA’s national Healthcare Reform Advisory Group in February 2017 as one of 25 leaders advising AHA board and leadership as the future of the ACA was debated.

Mark holds a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y.
