Marc Schaffer is an associate professor of economics at St. Norbert College. Marc completed his undergraduate work at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., and received a Ph.D. in applied economics from Western Michigan University. Marc’s graduate studies specifically concentrated in monetary economics and econometrics. Prior to a career in academia, Marc worked in finance for both a fund company and an institutional investment manager. Aside from teaching courses in macroeconomics, international finance, and money and banking, Marc conducts research on the behavior of financial intermediaries and their impact on economic activity.

Christian Cattan is a sophomore at St. Norbert College studying economics and political science and is planning to pursue a law degree. He is a student-athlete and loves the spirit of community at SNC. As a first-year, Christian founded and became the president of the St. Norbert College Law Club; he was also a member of the 2015 Midwest Conference Champion men’s varsity soccer team and became a member of the economics honor society Omicron Delta Epsilon. The summer following his first year, Christian worked full time as a legal assistant at Eric Feldman and Associates in his hometown of Chicago. During his sophomore year, he plans to continue tutoring students in economics for SNC Academic Support Services and working as an assistant coach at the Sports Emporium in De Pere. In Chicago, Christian volunteers as a food packer for Feed My Starving Children, helps St. Josaphat Church with the homeless outreach effort and volunteers as a tournament organizer with the Sockers Youth Foundation.
Lydia Dorn is a senior business administration major with a Spanish minor. She is from Waunakee, Wis. On campus, Lydia works in the Leadership, Student Engagement and First-Year Experience (LSE) office. She is involved in many facets of campus life, serving as co-president for Dance Marathon, as a mentor for the SNC 101 Program, as scholarship chair for her sorority Delta Phi Epsilon, and as an active member in the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) and Phi Sigma Iota (the Spanish honor society). She also just returned home from a semester-long study-abroad experience in Toledo, Spain, where she lived with a host family, took five courses and completed an internship all in her second language. After graduation in May 2017, Lydia plans to enter the workforce in either marketing or HR. She plans to return to school for her Master of Business Administration after several years of work experience.

Donnie LaBarre is a junior at St. Norbert College pursuing majors in economics and English. He is from Hayward, a small town in northwestern Wisconsin. He is currently a member of the Honors Program and has appeared on the dean's list for each of his three semesters. Additionally, he is a Writing Center consultant and an economics teaching assistant, tutoring students on their writing and economics skills. After graduation, he intends to pursue a graduate degree in economics or a career in business law.

Nick Morgan is a junior at St. Norbert College studying marketing and economics. He is from Green Bay, Wis., and attended Notre Dame Academy. Academics are important to Nick as he continuously makes the dean’s list. Nick is currently employed by the Green Bay Packers, working in the Packers Pro Shop. There, Nick has had extensive experience in inventory control and retail sales. Whenever he has free time, Nick is likely to be found on the golf course. In addition to playing golf frequently, he is also an assistant coach for both the boys and girls golf teams at Notre Dame Academy. After graduation, Nick plans to pursue a career in marketing or sales.  
Dan Neises is a junior at St. Norbert College studying business and economics. Dan is from Lake Zurich, Ill., a town about 45 minutes northwest of Chicago. He is a member of the economics honor society Omicron Delta Epsilon and has spent his time volunteering for many causes such as the Green Bay Area Public Schools and for Feed My Starving Children. Dan has an internship at W.W. Grainger where he works with the sourcing, operations and engineering team, which allows him to have a better understanding of the different areas of business. After graduation, Dan plans to enter the workforce in the finance field.

Catherine Nowaczyk is a sophomore at St. Norbert College, majoring in both economics and political science. She is from Willow Springs, Ill., a town 20 minutes southwest of downtown Chicago. Catherine is a student-athlete on the St. Norbert cross-country and track and field teams. She has participated on campus in the Student Government Association and the College Republicans Club. Catherine also worked as an economics tutor through Academic Support Services. She was on the dean’s list for both semesters of her first year. Catherine is one of the first students to be accepted into St. Norbert’s 3+3 law program, a partnership with Marquette in which she will complete her undergraduate credits in three years and will then follow on to Marquette Law School to earn her law degree in three additional years. This coming semester, Catherine will study abroad at Keele University in Staffordshire, England. When she returns, she will volunteer to help Green Bay-area youth at the YMCA and resume her many roles at St. Norbert, including her CBEA membership.

Hannah Ramminger is a sophomore at St. Norbert College from Manitowoc, Wis. She is an aspiring business finance and economics major with a Spanish minor. She works hard in and out of the classroom and has made the dean’s llst each of the two semesters she has attended St. Norbert. In addition to the CBEA, she works in Academic Support Services as a mathematics and Spanish tutor, is a member of Kappa Beta Gamma national sorority volunteering for Special Olympics and is a member of the 2016 national winning dance team at St. Norbert. After graduation, she plans to pursue a job in the finance field.

Taylor Ramthun is a junior at St. Norbert College pursuing majors in economics and finance. Taylor is from Campbellsport, a town about 20 minutes south of Fond du Lac, Wis. Taylor is a member of the economics honor society Omicron Delta Epsilon and is a tutor for accounting, finance and economics students on campus. Taylor also spends his time volunteering for many organizations, including Green Bay Area Public Schools and the Campbellsport Athletic Association. Taylor has been on the dean’s list for each of his four semesters. After graduation in December 2017, Taylor plans to pursue a career in the finance field.

Rachel Sauer is a junior at St. Norbert College studying accounting and economics. She is from Kaukauna, Wis., only 25 minutes south of campus. Education is very important to Rachel and she has been on the dean’s list for each of the two semesters she has attended SNC. Rachel also works as a licensed assistant and dual employee of Financial Solutions @ Capital Credit Union and LPL Financial. After her time at SNC, Rachel is considering pursuing her Ph.D. and one day hopes to enter public service at the state or federal level, become a professor or both! On campus, Rachel also participates in Accounting Club and College Democrats and is a founding board member of the student advisory board for the office of career and professional development. In her free time, she enjoys riding her road bike, trying new restaurants, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Elizabeth Totzke is a sophomore at St. Norbert College, pursuing degrees in legal studies and accounting. She is from Appleton, Wis. After being heavily involved in mock trial in high school, Elizabeth participates in mock trial at St. Norbert. She is also in the Honors Program and has made the dean’s list for both of her previous semesters at St. Norbert. Aside from the CBEA, Elizabeth works off campus as a legal assistant at Umentum & Kimps S.C. and has volunteered as a coach for her high school mock trial team. Following graduation, Elizabeth hopes to pursue a legal career by earning her CPA and attending law school.
