Gerry Aase is an associate professor of business administration with a focus in operations and supply-chain management. Gerry is passionate about working with students and helping them develop academically, personally and professionally. Introducing operations and supply-chain topics using a cross-discipline perspective is core to his teaching philosophy, while use of various tools and techniques for making data-driven decisions is common across his advanced courses.
Gerry previously held a position as visiting associate professor in the Driehaus College of Business, DePaul University, where he served as the inaugural director of the MS in business analytics program. He also enjoyed teaching a variety of classes including operations management, supply-chain management, quality management systems and data analytics.
Prior to joining DePaul in 2017, he served as a professor of operations management at Northern Illinois University. During his 20-year tenure, his focus was on industry-based student projects working with local business partners, where students proposed solutions using a lean six sigma methodology. These projects relied heavily on Gerry’s 10-year professional career that evolved across various engineering roles.
Gerry owns and operates several farms in Minnesota and Illinois. Recently, he and his wife sold their vineyard in Illinois and now look forward to new ventures in northeast Wisconsin.
Aase’s research focuses on process improvement, order picking and other warehouse- management issues encountered by various business partners.
