Dean Stewart serves as the executive director of the Center for Exceptional Leadership (CEL) in the Schneider School of Business & Economics. He is also a faculty member within the Schneider School’s MBA program where he teaches on the topics of leadership and design thinking.
Stewart earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Norbert College with a minor in history; his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh; and his Doctor of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Stewart also earned a certificate in design thinking from MIT.
Stewart’s professional career has spanned both the public and private sectors. Beginning in sales and marketing, his path led him into operations and ultimately a number of senior leadership positions with organizations in industries as diverse as building materials, renewables and higher education.
As the founder of Stratégie LLC, Stewart has also served as a strategic leadership consultant for dozens of for-profit and non-profit organizations including the Green Bay Packers. In 2021, he was named Most Valuable Mentor (MVM) for his work with the Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protége program.
Dean has served on the boards of and been involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay (board chair), Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity, Envision Green Bay, the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, the Brown County United Way Basic Needs & Self-Sufficiency Impact Council, and the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance.
A native of Arlington Heights, Ill., Stewart has significant ties to the St. Norbert community. He met and married his wife Anne (Calawerts) on campus, and together they have four adult children (three of whom are graduates of St. Norbert), a son in-law (who is also a graduate) and a grandson who they are spoiling rotten. The Stewart family can be found most weekends at their lake cottage in northern Wisconsin, or on the road somewhere, as they pursue their love of travel and exploration.
